Deirdre is currently lecturing Mathematics in CIT and Griffith College. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (for 2nd level) and a Special Purpose Award in Training and Education (for 3rd level). Before moving into third level teaching Deirdre worked as a secondary school Maths, Applied Maths and Physics teacher and has also worked for the State Examinations Commission. Deirdre enjoys the challenge of teaching Mathematics, especially to students who struggle with the subject, and she loves the confidence boost that mastering “hard maths” can give to students. She is always trying to learn about new ways to communicate and engage with students about the subject.
Prior to entering the teaching profession Deirdre worked for several years in Industry in Research and Development and Quality Control.
