Dr Kieran Mulchrone is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Applied Mathematics, School of Mathematical Sciences, University College, Cork. Kieran has been teaching at third level since 1999 and before that worked in industry as a numerical programmer for six years.
Kieran is programme coordinator for the MSc in Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing, which he developed and more recently it has been modified to become an online programme. Kieran is interested in online learning and computer aided mathematics. He is due to complete an MSc in Online and Distance Learning with the Open University. His scientific research interests lie in modelling and understanding structural patterns in the geosciences.
